Peonies are fresh cut flowers with strong stems. They come in a wide variety of colors and have long-lasting blooms. To best care for your flowers, begin by rinsing a container with detergent and bleach. Next, add cool water and a packet of flower food. Add your peonies.
To extend the life of the flower, change the water every 2-3 days. At this time, trim half an inch off the end of the stem to expose fresh plant material. If the peonies are kept out of direct sunlight and in cool water, they will last much longer. If the blooms are more closed than desired, soak the blooms in warm water and they will open up in a few hours. Refrigerate your peonies at night to prolong their lives for up to two weeks.
