Take off all that dead grass and thatch off and what do you get? Peony buds! Only a couple hundred to clean off without snapping off the buds.
Lots and lots of the black weed fabric we put on last summer blew off in the winter. Put it all back on, and more… The side of the house still has unimproved fields of our flowers.

Denise and I arrived at 3 on Wednesday, 10/4/17. The weather was clear and the air was crisp and it felt wonderful. At 4, UPS showed up with a big smile and 500 tulips.
All these buds will be beautiful peonies one of these days. The weather here has been cool and windy so things seem to be moving slowly.
We will continue laying down the last of the weed barrier cloth and try to keep up with the constant march of the ever growing weeds.
Keeping up with the weeds and posts is challenging, but we have an excellent new member of the team that is helping things move along.

There are so many beautiful signs of early spring on the farm. We have lots and lots of daffodils in four different varieties.
